under Martin O'neill he started really well but tailed off.

Re: James McLean?
Etherington was good player, he had his spells out of form but when he was in form he was brilliant and underrated as well. McLean is clumsy and overly aggressive.

Re: James McLean?
Pulis got the best out of Etherington when he signed for Stoke and he probably sees something of McLean that he can exploit.

He's quite happy to play in this country and all the benefits that gives him but he won't wear a poppy , two faced hypercritical IRA cunt.

Makes me a bit chuffed that James McLean and "his people" find the poppy disrespectful.

It will make me wear mine with even more pride.

stewie, that's right. We're not allowed to think he's an IRA supporting scum cunt, cos his agent and lawyer between them knocked up this letter.

Collyrob wanted Allardyce to get a new contract so he could laugh at people on here''

So did Billy Blagg.

Re: James McLean?
Are we allowed to think that he's not very good, and behaves like a more horrible, pikey but shit version of Wayne Rooney regardless of the poppy stuff, or is that not allowed because of his 'courageous ' letter?

Is this the guy involved in the furore where some people felt they needed to celebrate freedom by forcing other people to do things?

Re: James McLean?
It's a pity that this has become an issue.

Collyrob's letter c&p (collyrob 10:08 Mon Jun 22) is an excellent summary of an unfortunate conflict of interests. The feelings run very, very deep in (London)derry, and as the fellow says, it's deeply ingrained in people from birth. That doesn't mean he condones terrorism or violence or whatever, it just means that's how he has been brought up. I'd rather have someone who stands up for what he believes is right (even if it's not) than someone who is prepared to discard his beliefs for the sake of convenience.

Let it go.

The poppy is a symbol of the first world war, first and foremost.
As for bloody sunday..hardly a massacre..and seized on by the anti British to be something it wasnt.

This grovelling shit tries to excuse himself by using recent british wars as a reason.
paddies make me sick

Unfortunately, the braindeads on here (and society in general) can only see things as black or white.

McClean sounds like a courageous fellow.

Re: James McLean?
Here we go again jumping to conclusions. I lived in London when I was 8 for a year when my old man was working with some East end heavies. That's when I started going to see West Ham and that's when I fell in love with the club. I still go over 2 or 3 times a year and I fucking love the club. I daydream about scoring the winner against Tottenham all the time, so don't ever try question my love for the club.

I never ever said I wanted allardyce to stay, I have said it for a long time that I wanted rid of him. It was a throwaway comment saying "it would be funny after all the big names being touted with the job if we were to re-sign BFS" as in "it would be just our luck" but obviously you had to keep running with it and twist things to sound like I'm laughing at West Ham fans.

I know you're Irish, collyrob, but it's not hard to work out the difference between an opinion based on something somebody told you, and a lie. I could've been 'lying' when I came on here and won a load of people money with the news that Redknapp was leaving QPR, but that piece of info turned out to be correct.

You, on the other hand, actively wanted Allardyce to keep his job, so you could laugh at the expense of proper West Ham fans, those that go to games and have a vented interest in the club, not someone who has picked them out of a hat as his team.
